Short answer: a pool day pass in Canggu is 150,000–350,000 IDR (often with a food credit), a coworking day pass 150,000–250,000, and a gym drop-in 100,000–150,000. Beach clubs do not sell day passes at all — they run on minimum spend of 350,000–2,500,000 IDR, which is a commitment to spend, not an entry fee.

Pools: the biggest gap in Canggu
This is where the most money is left on the table, every day, by people who do not know the alternative exists.
Beach clubs (Finns, Atlas, Vue and neighbours) run on minimum spend: you commit to spending an amount, redeemable against food and drink. Standard sunbeds 350,000–700,000 IDR; day beds 700,000–2,500,000 depending on position and day.
Hotels and small resorts a few hundred metres inland sell a flat day pass at 150,000–350,000 IDR, frequently with a 50,000–100,000 food credit, towels and a lounger included. Quieter, no music, no scene.

If the scene is the product, the beach club is fairly priced — you are buying the crowd, the DJ and the position. If the pool is the product, the hotel pass wins on every axis except the photo.
Five questions before you pay: is the credit food or drinks only; are service and tax included in the quote; towel and locker; what time does it end (many finish at 6pm, before sunset); and is there a guest-priority rule on loungers.

Coworking: the break-even is ten passes
Ten day passes at 200,000 IDR is 2,000,000 — more than a full month of hot desk at several Canggu spaces.
The rule: if you are going three or more days a week for two weeks, the monthly is already cheaper. And nearly every space prices a weekly pass well below five day passes without putting it on the website.
Before committing to a month, check: phone booth count per member, chair quality, aircon coverage, backup power and a second internet line, access hours, and whether there are free desks at 10am. See coworking prices in Canggu.
Gyms: three drop-ins already loses

Always do one drop-in before buying a month. A gym that looks good at 3pm can be unusable at 6pm.
When to go, to pay less
- Monday to Wednesday. Minimum spends drop, day passes appear, staff are relaxed about position.
- Mornings. Several venues run a lower morning rate or a half-day pass until 2pm.
- Outside July–August and Christmas. Peak season roughly doubles minimums and shortens windows.
- Wet season (Nov–Mar). Rain arrives in short heavy afternoon bursts; mornings are frequently perfect and pool pricing softens.
- Ask about the second day. Multi-day pool passes exist at many hotels and are almost never listed.
Good for / skip if
Buy day passes if: you are here under two weeks, you want variety, or you are testing a place before committing.
Stop buying them if: you are using the same category three or more times a week. That is the signal to ask for the weekly or monthly rate — which exists almost everywhere and is displayed almost nowhere.
Skip beach club minimum spend entirely if: you are solo, or you only want a swim. Minimum spend models punish single travellers hardest.
The honest negatives
- Canggu's beach is not a swimming beach. Dark sand, steep shore dump, rips. You are paying for a pool, not the ocean. Real swimming is Sanur, Nusa Dua, Melasti or the Nusas.
- The first quote is the front-row quote. Ask what the cheapest position with the same pool access costs.
- "Sunset session" passes that end at 6pm miss sunset, which is roughly 6:00–6:30 year-round.
- Weekend pricing is worse across every category here.
- Published prices are stale. Venues change minimum spends by the week and rarely update anything but Instagram.
Where the money leaks
Day pass pricing in Canggu is almost entirely unpublished. Hotels release cheaper passes on slow days, clubs lower the minimum spend on a quiet Tuesday, gyms and studios hold weekly rates behind the counter, and coworking spaces price a week below five days without saying so. All of it is decided that morning, by the venue, based on how empty the place looks.
